EMZ Werke Manderfeld relies on customised metal processing for an increasingly individual market.
The metal processing location in the industrial zone Merlscheid/Manderfeld looks back on a long tradition, although the name Eifeler Metall- und Zinkwerke Manderfeld (for short: EMZ) has only been anchored on the East Belgian company map for five years.
It was back in September 2013 when the galvanizing plant and grating production (which for the previous 50 years operated under the name Staco AG) became the commercial responsibility of the Haas family from Lanzerath, represented on site at EMZ by the siblings Ingrid, Thomas, Norbert and Josef.
Having previously been active for many years in various regional segments (predominantly until then in the wood and energy sector) with professional creativity, commercial vision and technological experience, the local entrepreneurial family managed to successfully give the traditional company a future-oriented focus on the requirements ad prospects of the market within a short time. Not only with a new, farther reaching designation, but above all with a new, strategically innovative concept.
Here, the new management initially relied on the long-standing expertise in grating production to be able to continue to meet the high demands of an international clientele that had constantly grown since the beginning of the sixties. The know-how gained in this segment during the course of decades is a guarantee for the outstanding quality, whether in steel, stainless steel or exquisite aluminium. In addition to the technical equipment, organisational flexibility and a high level of expert knowledge - all proven assets of tailor-made services for individual customer requirements.
Finally, too, the prerequisite for customized solutions in an increasingly complex market, in which standard products nowadays have only a modest share. But because of its specialisation in many fields, EMZ Manderfeld can quickly react even to unusual requirements and wishes in a targeted manner.
Last not least the company's own hot-dip galvanizing plant guarantees a warranted, long-term corrosion resistance for all products leaving the Merlscheid/Manderfeld location.
Two market- and customer oriented key features in the EMZ range under the new management are in the meantime mechanical engineering and sheet metal processing, equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and manufactured by constantly trained skilled workers, who do not shy away from technical innovation, but who face any challenge, no matter how extraordinary, with technical competence and productive skill.
What is top priority for the production processes in the mainly newly built halls, now with a production area measuring around eight thousand square metres, also applies for the preparatory and accompanying input from the in-house engineering office, which is significantly gaining importance at EMZ due to the continuously more complex activity. Together with the customer, the office develops and works out a customised solution for the product or project (upon request in consultation with the EMZ field service, thus ensuring easier handling, even in the case of more distant customers).
Result: The company EMZ Werke Manderfeld AG under the management of Ingrid Haas regards itself as a competent and reliable contact partner for all relevant questions in today's multi-dimensional fields of metal and zinc. Currently, about ninety motivated employees consider themselves in their daily work as a guarantee for technical and organisational competence for the benefit of a product of supreme quality at the service of a satisfied and loyal customer.
A structural and personnel expansion, which was expressly honoured in November 2017 with the East Belgian Business Award (better known as the OSTKar) in the category "Large companies"(more than 50 employees).
